Monster Mash-Up with Kathy Hume

The What:

Unleash your inner mad scientist in this playful and eco-friendly workshop where you'll transform everyday recyclables into peculiar wall-mounted creatures! Using cereal boxes, scraps, and other reclaimed materials, we'll collage together our very own monster creation. Whether spooky, silly, or downright strange, your handmade creature will add a dash of Halloween fun to any space. No experience needed—just bring your imagination and a love for the unexpected!

The Who:

Meet Kathy Hume, who is making a name for herself as magician, conjuring marvelous creatures from their hiding places in watercolor, textile, and found objects. Her art enchants and surprises, appearing on urban walls, in New Orleans art markets, and in whimsical activity sets that foster imaginative and sensory play. In 2020, Kathy collaborated with Lady Delaney as the illustrator and graphic designer for Adieu Grimm Gables. Recently, she was appointed as the official cartographer for the Dinkies of Alden, Michigan.

The Where:

Monster Mash will take place in the suitably haunted halls of a French Quarter mansion, rarely opened to the public. Light refreshments will be served. Secret location to be disclosed to lucky ticket holders.
